Badminton Tournament
Maharashtra Mandal London together with other mandals and Marathi organisations collaboratively hosted a Badminton Tournament on 6th February 2022 at Vale Farm Sports Centre in Wembley. As we try to bring some normality in our lives after two years of Covid-19 lockdowns and isolation, we felt promoting sport and valuing our health would be a great way of celebrating and motivating healthy life styles.
The Badminton Tournament was a great success, whereby, 73 “Doubles” Teams participated (Men’s Doubles, Women’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles) from across South East England from a variety of communities/ethnicity. The participants were extremely talented and ranged from Youths to 50+ years. And although we had a doctor available to treat injuries, none of the participants suffered any kind of trauma.
We are happy to announce the following, well deserved winners:
Women’s Gold trophy & medal winners – Karen & Jenny (Rio)
Women’s Silver trophy & medal winners – Sajini Nedumaran & Vinotha Baskaran
